About
Who Am I?
Simply put, I’m just a bloke who loves combat sports.
From a young age, I was hooked on Jackie Chan and Jet Li movies on VCR. After wearing out tapes of The One and Rumble in the Bronx, I knew I wanted to be a martial artist.
I think I started out in Karate… or maybe Taekwondo, hard to say. Either way, I quit after missing my white belt grading (yes, really).
At 12, I started again! This time with a mix of Shotokan & Kyokushin Karate, and eventually earned my 1st Dan black belt, competing in a few tournaments along the way.
Not long after, I found Muay Thai. I started training and competing, and I’m still at it today, about 20 years later.
Along the way, I also worked in the fight gear industry, learning everything from manufacturing to product design and beyond.
These days, testing and reviewing gear from some incredible brands has become a bit of a hobby… and a passion I love to share.

Whats The Point?
My goal with Fighting Spirit is simple: to help others.
Whether it’s helping someone make an informed decision about their next pair of boxing gloves or figure out the right size shin guards for their training, I just want to share what I’ve learned.
If even one person out there finds value in what I share, then it’s all been worth it.
